From Blankets to Masks Responding to COVID-19
INSPIRED-THEADS IS RESPONDING TO THE NEED TO PROVIDE FACE-COVERING PROTECTION TO NEW JERSEY’S DISABILITY AND UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES
CHALLENGE
Disability advocates, service providers, and government agencies have put out the call that PPE is needed for vulnerable communities. Inspired-Threads is answering this call by providing facemasks that are designed specifically for people with disabilities and those living in lower-income, urban settings.
OUR MASKS
In keeping with our mission, we’re providing an eco-friendly product that has a positive impact on the community and the environment. Our masks are stitched from high-quality, pre-consumer textile waste that has been diverted from landfill. This includes dead-stock fabric, remnants and misprinted t-shirts. Inspired-Threads makes wearing a mask part of a movement of inclusion, empowerment, and positive change.
OUR MOVEMENT
We know we are better and stronger when we work together. We are we’re engaging community organizations, volunteers and our supporters to be active partners in our movement to make wearing a mask a symbol of caring and community.
THE PLAN
We’re engaging these communities, along with a team of volunteers and partners, to ensure access, free-of-charge, to our adaptive face masks. And we’re supplementing masks with a bi-lingual, visual guide, written in plain language, to help explain why masks are important, where and when to wear a mask, and how to safely wear and remove them.
